We are a rapidly growing digital creative agency and startup factory that is looking for someone to help bring structure, processes, and guidance to a fiercely creative team, evaluate the financial and market viability of start-up concepts, and act as a strategic consultant for our clients.
The questions we need help with
The biggest questions you will continually be asking in so many different ways are “why do we do things this way?” and “what if we tried doing it this way?”
Constantly spot opportunities both big and small
We are looking for an opportunity spotter who understands financials and people equally as well. You will have the ability to see the big picture and all the small things that end up either adding up to a big difference or craftily hide their significance to the business because they seem tiny.
A detective and experimenter
A big part of your work will involve being a detective -- observing, hypothesizing, and tracking down clues for why something is working (or not working) the way it is. On the flipside, you will also be an experimenter -- devising ways to test new approaches, processes, and ways of working and measuring the results. This is where your imagination will mesh with real-world empiricism to guide the decisions we make.
1. Growing the service business
The top priority is helping lead the growth of our core professional services business. We help a diverse list of clients concept, develop and launch, products, campaigns, and content. By definition what we do is the unknown which means planning, budgeting, and tracking are difficult.
We take pride in our creative processes but need someone to bring the same level of innovation to the operations of our business, bringing transparency to key drivers of our business and helping plan for serious growth. We are an extremely flat organization that needs help hiring and developing people, estimating and evaluating projects, and looking for new and better problems to solve.
2. Launching Start-Ups
From day one Gitwit has existed to launch new businesses. To date we have launched/partnered in concepts ranging from social apps to restaurants raising over $2M in start-up capital in the process and generating >$7M in revenue.
We are constantly evaluating ideas and launching concepts either in house or through strategic partnerships. We need someone to bring structure to evaluating potential, opportunity cost, and planning resources accordingly. Being a high factfinder with high follow through is a must when evaluating these concepts. Knowing when to say no is a more valuable skill than being a ‘visionary’. You probably idolize Buffet and Munger over Gates and Jobs.
3. Strategic Consulting
While we call ourselves a “digital creative agency” we look much more like a business consultancy to many of our clients. Our relationships are at the C-level with multi national companies and rapidly growing start-ups alike. Many of their challenges require in-depth research of people development, leadership, and financial topics.
In this capacity you would help research, write, ask questions, and develop materials to present back to clients about our findings.
